This Small Block Chevrolet Trigger Wheel Package is designed for the Small Block Chevrolet engines utilizing a stock 8" harmonic damper. Both the HO small blocks and the SB 400 balancers will use this kit. Most aftermarket dampers (i.e. Fluidamper®) will not work with this package

Congratulations on your purchase of the Small Block Chevrolet Trigger Wheel Package! This trigger wheel provides a high-resolution trigger input to the Electromotive computer on your Small Block Chevy-powered vehicle. This kit requires no machining or welding, and is a simple bolt-on!

Directions:

1. Remove the pulley from the crankshaft damper.

2. Turn the engine to Top Dead Center (TDC) for the #1 cylinder. The more accurate you are with obtaining TDC, the more accurate your timing settings will be.

3. Remove two of the right side bolts of the timing chain cover, and install the magnetic sensor bracket (#7) in their place using the ¼-20 cap screws (#5). See the attached drawing for correct orientation.

4. Place the magnetic sensor in the bracket, but do not tighten the set screw.

5. Place the trigger wheel on the damper such that the trailing edge of the 11th tooth is aligned with the center of the magnetic sensor. Due to machining variations, it may be necessary to slightly increase the inner diameter of the trigger wheel to fit onto the raised hub of the damper. This can easily be done with a round file.

6. Tap three of the holes in the damper corresponding to the three holes in the trigger wheel with the 3/8-16 tap.

7. Install the three bolts (#2) to secure the trigger wheel to the damper, making sure that the engine is still at TDC, and the trigger wheel is still aligned correctly with the sensor.

8. Adjust the air gap between the trigger wheel and the magnetic sensor to be 0.050”. This is best done with a feeler gauge.

9. Tighten the set screw (#6) on the magnetic sensor bracket. It is advisable to use a low-strength threadlocker on the set screw.
